Finally! After a summer spent hard at work researching and viewing other websites, planning content, and picking fonts and photos, the new UPEI Student Union website has finally gone live! It’s bigger. It’s better. It’s actually going to be maintained!
As you explore our new home on the web I am certain that those of you who have visited any of our previous websites will appreciate a webpage that it is cleaner, crisper, less confusing, and more current than any of our previous sites. You may also notice some similarities between the layout of our site and the upei.ca site. We felt that the amazing group of people working in the Integrated Communications Department at UPEI has done such a great job designing and maintaining upei.ca that we approached them about creating our new site, and they did not disappoint. Thanks for all your hard work IC!
What you’re reading now is my new blog, which I promise to keep posting to, no matter how busy it gets. Be sure to follow my posts as I document my year as Student Union President and keep you informed about everything I’m doing as I represent you.
As I mentioned above, the new upeisu.ca will be better maintained than any of its predecessors. No matter how well designed or innovative a website may be, it will be doomed to fail if the content isn’t fresh, and static content isn’t constantly being updated to reflect the most current information available. Here at the UPEI Student Union, we want you, the students of UPEI, to feel as if upeisu.ca is the best, perhaps even the only, source of information on everything that is going on at the student union and UPEI. In the coming weeks as things begin to pick up on campus when students go back to class, be sure to check out upeisu.ca on a regular basis to keep up to date on everything from employment opportunities with the student union, books for sale through the book exchange, information about lobbying initiatives and other projects of the student union, as well as copies of our SU Council meeting minutes and other important documents.
I am also excited to announce that very soon we will be launching new websites for the Wave and the Panther Post so be sure to keep your browser pointed to upeisu.ca in the coming weeks to stay up to date with all the new things happening at your Student Union!
See you on campus soon!
